Hello friends! I want to express my most profound thanks for the part all of my lovely readers, newsletter subscribers, visitors from Ginny’s Yarn Along, friends and family played in the successful launch of my Lady Wren pattern and Wren Collection e-book. I’m so pleased at the response so far and for the many sweet notes I received from so many lovely people! Every click, every share, and every purchase–thank you!
Since launch day happened to be our 9th anniversary, Michael and I planned a celebratory date afternoon on Saturday in downtown McKinney. We started the fun at Cadillac Pizza Pub with white wine sangria and Goat Cheese and Fig pizza (yum!)
Our next stop was one of my favorite shops–Fair & Square Imports. The owners, Andrew and Kate, are the sweetest people and I love the beautiful collection of fair trade goods they have curated in their shop. I usually just browse and admire all the pretties, maybe picking up a special gift for someone or a new pair of straps for my Ssekos, but when I saw this gorgeous recycled sari Kantha quilt, I couldn’t resist! They’re one of a kind, and I knew if I didn’t walk out of there with my favorite one, it would be gone forever! It was kind of an extravagant purchase, but I’m so glad I indulged…it’s so soft and light. It’s perfect to cuddle up with on a Texas summer evening.
After my retail therapy, we had a slice of pie at Emporium Pies…Smooth Operator for me and Cherry Bomb for Michael. The perfect way to wrap up a fun date afternoon!
Btw…I’m thinking of running a Mystery Knit Along with a shawl that will be ready for release soon. If you’d be interested in being a part of some MKAL fun, would you take a moment to comment on this post? It would be sad to have a knit along with just a couple of people, so I’m trying to gauge interest…Thank you! I promise the results are beautiful and the shawl is a super fun knit!
