Yarn Along–Block Party!

IMG_2845 IMG_2849 IMG_2854Okay, not that kind of block party.  A blockING party.  I’ve had a stack of FOs laying around for a couple of weeks and decided it was time to get them ready to wear!

I loved every minute of my Sun Kissed shawl by Veronika Jobe and couldn’t wait any longer for the blocking magic to happen.  While I was at it, I blocked three pairs of prototype gloves and a new hat design.  More on those later though.

We’re finally starting to feel a bit better after all four of us came down with all the sicknesses last week.  No books to discuss just yet, but I have two awesome knitting books coming in the mail this week that I can’t wait to tell you all about soon!

Linking up with Ginny.  Have a great week everyone!

  1. Gorgeous knits! I finished a shawl this week, but don’t know when I will get to blocking it. New knitting books are exciting – look forward to seeing what you got.

    • You should give it a try! It was actually really really easy (almost entirely garter stitch) up to the last few rows, and the edging looks complicated but was pretty straight forward, even though you end up with over 1000 sts on the needle 2 rows before bind off 😉 And it’s a free pattern too, so no risk to try it out!

  2. You and me will be at the same party. I need to wait until this weekend when the humidity is gone or they will never dry. Your shawl is beautiful! Blocking really is magical.

  3. Hi Jennie! WOW! Your shawl is SO lovely! Well done!
I’m glad your family is on the mend. It’s SO hard when everyone is sick, especially Mommy.
Take care! Thank you for sharing your knitting. It’s very inspiring.

  4. That’s so gorgeous! I have a hankering to make a shawl but keep putting it off… I think it’s the hassle of the blocking, I’m very much a lazy knitter after I’ve cast off! 😉

  5. I love your shawl. I’m making the same one in the green stripe and optic Madtosh yarn. I really love the lace part. Can’t wait to finish it. I’m about half way . Yours looks beautiful in the blue color and love the lace as well.
