Yarn Along : Toto
I've been on a little break from blogging for a while. It wasn't intentional or planned, I just haven't had much to share lately. I've been up to my ears in knitting design. It's really satisfying and rewarding, but it can also be a little stressful. I'm hopeful that my revamped Christmas Morning Vest will be ready to launch next week and the new shawl design will be on schedule for a mid-November release. If you're interested in getting a jump on your Christmas knitting and would like to help test knit my new shawl, would you stop on by my Rav Group and volunteer? You'll need 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn (something from your stash will do nicely!). It's a really fun knit and I love how the finished shawl turns out!
This week, I'm taking a mini-break from original-design-knitting to work on a pattern that caught my eye a few weeks ago. It's called TOTO by Asja Janeczek and it is brilliant! It can be worn a bunch of different ways and the construction of it is so fascinating! I'm only half way through the 2nd of 4 colors, but I already can't wait to try it on! I'm using Knit Picks Capretta fingering weight yarn that's a luxurious 80% wool, 10% cashmere and 10% nylon in Celestial, Platinum, Admiral and Black. A while back KP had those 4 colors in a sampler for a great discount, so I ended up getting all the yarn for about $37 (which I thought was really a steal!). We're taking family pictures next weekend, and one of the outfit combinations I've put together for us is a black/gray/royal blue look, so it would be really fun to wear this shawl/vest/thingy if I can get it knit in time.
I received my pre-ordered copy of Romi Hill's New Lace Knitting book a few weeks ago and have been drooling over it ever since. I don't usually buy knitting books because I often only like a couple of the designs enough to actually knit them, but I want to knit everything in this book. There are so many gorgeous patterns--I'm so glad I purchased it. Every single design is a win, in my opinion. I love all of Romi's work. Okay...I'll stop gushing...but really--it's a totally awesome book!
I'm hoping to share my redone, totally improved and perfect for the holidays design with you next week! And after I get this TOTO finished, I'll be working with this box of loveliness! Knit all the things!
Linking up with Ginny for Yarn Along!
