Gilded Flicker Shawl
I'm so excited to be sharing my newest design with you today--Gilded Flicker Shawl! It's the perfect piece to reach for when you need a little bit of extra warmth on a chilly day. It's a cozy, garter stitch crescent shawl knit sideways from end to end. The lace motif is reversible, and the shawl is a joy to knit and to give! Christmas is coming--what a fun piece this would be to make for someone special on your knit-worthy list! Choose a cheery fingering weight yarn to brighten up the dreariest day!
A dear poet-friend of mine has written a poem that I think matches up beautifully with this shawl. It's called PEACE.
The frigid winds of winter
Have seeped inside
This ancient house
Of memories
And forget-me-nots.
I make my way patiently
Throughout its rooms,
Soothing candlelight
Following in my wake.
Our clouds of breath are no more.
Your cold hands are busy
Giving life to a hearth
Filled with soft fire
Meant to heat us to the core,
A warmth of love and hope.
The house breathes new life
As you place the fine wool
Across my shoulders.
We settle in, as peace settles amongst us;
Our future knows no bounds.
