What a fun idea to have a virtual baby shower for Ginny! Thank you for hosting Tracey!
I’m putting a little package together of my very favorite baby items. I’m sending a black and white hand tied baby quilt with organic cotton quilt batting that is so light, but very warm and cozy at the same time. I found it to be the perfect weight for my summer baby.
I’ve also made a honey yellow, bee-themed receiving blanket, with handmade binding. I have to admit, these are one of my very favorite things to make–it’s almost a selfish present really 😉
And finally, I’m ordering yarn to whip up a Perdrix Newborn Hat. I love this squishy, cabled pattern, and working it up in Knit Picks Galileo gives it just the right touch of luxury. (Galileo also grows quite a lot when wet blocked, so baby can wear the hat for longer!) I think I’ll order Valentine…or maybe Urchin! Decisions, decisions.
The newborn size of Perdrix has only been available as an exclusive pattern for email subscribers, but I’ll be uploading it to the full pattern version on Ravelry later this week. If you’d like to make some squishy, cabled hats for some dear little ones in your life, please consider signing up for my monthly newsletter–I’ll be sending out the pattern again in next week’s email! Or you can purchase it in sizes up through adult on Rav.
