Hi all! I hope you’ve had a productive week! I’ve been working for the last 6 weeks or so to get ready for the DFW Yarn Crawl event, and I’m finally starting to feel like I might be ready in time! My dining room is slowly being taken over by samples, supplies, displays and products. It’s a good reminder every time I walk by that room that “Yarn Crawl Is Coming!” so I need to keep chipping away at my very unreasonable to-do list.
I’ve been invited by Ginger, the owner of the McKinney Knittery, to have a trunk show at her shop during the crawl! I’m redoing some of my patterns to better fit a printed format, as well as reknitting samples in nicer yarn, making up hundreds of stitch marker sets to sell and ordering promotional materials. I even designed a new logo and had a couple of t-shirts printed for me to wear. (Squee!)
I feel like I have ages left to get everything ready, while at the same time I’m feeling under the gun because my to-do list is so long…it’s really strange! I’m not sure which side will win out, but as long as I have some printed patterns to sell, some samples to display and some stitch markers to peddle, I think it will all work out alright.
If you’re in the DFW area (or if you’re looking for a bit of #yarntourism), I hope you’ll participate in the DFW Yarn Crawl! It’s August 19-28, 2016 and dozens of shops in the DFW area are participating. I’ll be at McKinney Knittery in downtown McKinney, TX in person both weekends (and my wares will be set up there for the whole event!)
Also, I’ll be hosting a knit along for one of my re-done patterns (it’s also shown in the picture above on the hat stand). Perdrix is my all time favorite cabled hat and I was so excited to get to work it up in a new sport weight yarn that Ginger carries at the shop. The new sample is done in Blue Sky Fibers Metalico and it has a beautiful fuzzy halo–I cannot wait for it to get chilly here so I can wear this hat everywhere! If you’d love to knit a great fall hat with squishy, luxurious cables, won’t you considering joining us? The Knit Along officially starts tomorrow in my Ravelry Group and you can pick up Perdrix for a great price all through the event! (Psst… there will be prizes for finishing too!)
